i havent cooked with this gallon pot in the small yet but it works fine in the large, it just fits the small. the 2.5 quart size works well in the small and can be used for beans soups etc.

If you only cook for 2 people the small Lodge seasoned cast iron pot is a winner. I use this one for a lot of stuff. On the egg now is this seasoned chicken breast over stuffing. Works best on split firebrick on regular grate.
