Transporting turkey?

I'm cooking the turkey at my house, and then serving it at the in-laws' place (just a few miles away.) Can I just wrap the bird in foil, and place it in a cooler with blankets, just like I would a brisket or pork butt? Or will this mess up the crispy skin I'm hoping to get?[p]Thanks,
Mike

  • Eggtuary,
That is a great way to transport the bird, but... it will steam that crisp skin (depending on how long you plan to keep it wrapped in the foil). The longer in the foil the worse it will soften that oh so sought after crisp skin.
Sorry, probably not much help. Joe
