A while back, someone mentioned removing rib membrane with catfish skinning pliers. I'd appreciate finding a source for these pliers. thanks.

daddyo,[p]I bought a pair of them and for the most part have found that cutting my slabs in half and using a butterknife from the cut edge.
-
WalMart more than likely has them. If not, try your local hunting, fishing, and/or gun store.

daddyo,
i find that a butter knife to start with and then paper towels to grib with works as well as anything, ive tried pliers in the past and the membrane just rips. havent tried skinning pliers, but cabelas would have them
fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it -
daddyo,[p]I bought mine at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago. Didn't have a real lot of success using them but I was trying to hurry. Have remember to start prep earlier.[p]Chuter

daddyo,
I have both, and prefer locking hemostats (from army surplus) to catfish pliers.[p]Ken

Dos Huevos,
Save your money and use paper towels or a damp dish towel which I use with no problems.

newbie to the egg,[p]That's what I use now. A butter knife and papertowels is all I need. It seems that "the simpler the better" is a good motto for me...[p]Go figure?

BlueSmoke,[p]Hey, great idea! I think if I looked around in my college stuff from the '70s I might be able to find some hemostats to use![p]...

...[p]I used them to clamp off rubber tubing to my vacuum pump when I was messing around with home-made lasers. Seriously![p]Chuck
