Cleaning Out The Freezer

Options
My New Years Resolution was to burn through everything we have in our freezer. (minus all the wild game I am saving for our booth at Eggtoberfest).

Tonight I found frozen broccoli, a few lbs of shrimp, and frozen stir fry medley.  Add egg, rice, and a few spices/sauces and BAM! Dinner.

As always, thanks for indulging in my food porn.

@Hntnhrd I already did a rendition of beans and rice with some crawfish and andouille a few weeks ago leftover from a boil last summer. It's getting a little absurd.

We havent bought meat at the store since November and my garage fridge still looks like this (after serving parties of 8 or more at least twice a week for 2 months)

And the door is just filled with birds. My wife and sister have a running bet that I will die before reaching the bottom.

@Hntnhrd that's why I left my chest freezer in Colorado. I would find year old trout at the bottom with piles of elk, chicken and frozen pizza on top. We have one in my buddy's garage where we just store wild game after processing. Then we come get what we need when we need it.

We too need to clean out our freezer and I keep saying we WON'T BUY ANOTHER THING to go in there until we get it down to a manageable amount!!!  Trouble is I'm the offender and when I find this or that meat on sale - well, I re-package it in Food Saver bags and in it goes! BTW we have only had up-right freezers for the last 44 years since I saw how my short Aunt couldn't reach the bottom of her chest style. Just the same I push stuff to the back and forget it - so the bottom disappearance is no different!

@RRP Bottom Line Up Front:  I have been banned from Costco until I get at least 2 shelves cleaned off.

LOL - my s-i-l did the same. When she showed me her new freezer plus her old one I asked what they had frozen to need 2 18 cu foot uprights so she showed me. Guess what? Ever see 8 large bags of potato chips in a freezer? I was dumbfounded!

@DMW I guess I would have more room in the garage if my wife left me and took our kid....but then I would just spend all my time on here with OT topics about how lonely I am and that I have to wheel my Egg out on the porch of my one bedroom apt. It would be a whole thing.

I have a 2 1/2 car garage I already can't get a car in. Guns, ammo, booze, meat, running water, tools...if I had a cot I probably wouldn't come inside.
