Time for a sappy Thanksgiving thread...
I figured its time for us all to remember what we are thankful for. I'll go first (in no specific order).
I'm thankful for my family. For SWBO who puts up with all of my sh!t. Like filling the garage with enough charcoal that we haven't been able to park inside it for several years. For rolling her eyes less and less when I say " I think I'm going to get another cooker" . For FINALLY stop saying " well you have to sell one of the older ones then" . For my sisters, who remind me constantly that my mom did something right by raising us to be a tight-knit family that cared for each other.
For my son, who has got to be the funniest kid ever. He's going to be so pissed when he finds out that some kids actually have sane parents.
For my dad, who gets to see his grandson grow up now that he doesn't live halfway across the world, and gives him a lollipop every Saturday.
For my friends (many on this forum), who break up the monotony of everyday life.
And for showing up at work today... Only to find out that I had scheduled the day off!! Bonus!!
Now... Go!!!

For good friends/family/neighbors who have seen me at my worst, but remember me at my best. For my husband-the most decent, generous guy-you-can -always count on type of guy. No big bunches of flowers or big diamonds but will help you with no complaints when you are so sick from the chemo and hurting from the surgery with no regards for himself. For kids who still love me though I was far from perfect. And for my job and lifestyle-I am indeed lucky to have everything I do. Many work a lot harder for half as much.
And for the Forum-which I can visit and get ideas for cooking and advise. You guys/girls are great!

Thankful for Beer
Thankful for Prop 64
oh wait, you're serious!?!?
Thankful for a healthy, happy family that brings me so much joy and happiness, especially when it is needed to get release from an extremely stressful job.
Thankful for for my wife that understands my addictions to Golf, and now BBQ. Thankful she no longer is asking me to sell my pellet grill.
Thankful all my extended family is relatively close by that we see each other enough all year long to get sick of one another now and then.
Thankful to to have found this forum which I can frequent often for a good laugh and temporary escape from day to day tasks.
Thankful for the the simple fact that I have many things to be thankful for.Just bought an Egg? Here is what you get to look forward to now:
Plate Setter, FlameBoss 200, Spider, PSWOO-CI, Additional Rig Shelf for dome cooking, Thermapen, iGrill2, Cast Iron, Blackstone, Cooking Accessories for the Blackstone, Cover for the Egg and the Blackstone, shopping for Rub like a fine wine or IPA, and a new fascination with lump and what brand is the best-all to be debated every Friday Night. Next desires-Joetisceriie, Adjustable Rig, Grillmates, table and more eggs

i don't share much stuff. no posts about my dog dying. kids' triumphs, etc.
we tend to be reticent here in NE, and more so re: personal stuff.
but we just powered through some heavy duty stuff here. ...and damn if that doesn't reduce talk of political factions, sports, and fighting over a frigging brand of charcoal (or knife. ahem), to, basically, well, laughable status, then i dunno what does.
thankful that we are back to (well, almost) 100%.
also, always thankful for my tenth year of my own business in the slowest economic recovery ever, in an industry that revolves like a weathervane, and to never (hopefully) have to go back to my cube life, working 90 hours for someone else. thankful for clients who like my work. and thankful i can support my family with a pencil and some sheets of paper, and a computer. and thankful i have enough time off to take care of my own interests, only one of which is cooking on this old grill.
life's too short. for a LOT of stuff.

IT'S RAINING!!!
First time in a long, long time. Last measurable rain I remember was mid sept. Some places it's been since July. -
I'm thankful to regaining my health. I've had some issues which landed me in the hospital and then required 42 days of injections as an out patient which are coming to an end next Monday. HURRAH and bring on 2017!!!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I am thankful for you "forum family" for being there. Also for the 14 that will be here (and gone in a few hours) this Thanksgiving.
I was thinking yesterday how some of the cooks from the old forum helped me 8 or 9 years ago when I was trying to decide if I was to light the lump from the top or bottom.
