Anyone have anything different in your salt and pepper grinders?

I have a good pair of grinders and that is what I have my salt and pepper in. Now someone gave me another pair.  I was wondering what other spices are good to put in them.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  Anyone else have anything other than salt and pepper in theirs? If so, what?

That's a great question.  I've got one that contains a mixture of sea salt and Habanero that I bought premixed and already in the grinder.

I've never done it, but I've seen mixtures of peppercorns (black, green, red, white) and I don't think I'd want that all the time, but if I had a spare grinder sitting around, I'd definitely give that a shot!

Whole herbes de provence. Works beautifully and is quite versatile.

....you could also make some of Adam Perry Lang's flavoured salts and throw them in there.

This has been the only peppercorn mix in our grinder for nearly 20 years! It's a tasty mix of black, green, white and pink peppercorns. BB& B sells it by the "ton" I am told!

Yes, I have the peppercorn medley in my current pepper grinder.  The thought of some smoked salt intrigues me. But this really interests me:

I gotta admit. I'm intrigued by this. I might try to do garlic, onion and red pepper flake. I like to control kosher with my fingers. I always over salt grinding or shaking

just sayin...I'm for home mixed and all that but I can't tell you how handy and delicious it is just grabbing an 11oz Lawry's Garlic Salt shaker bottle out of the cupboard! For the unfamiliar it consists of coarse ground salt, dried garlic and fine parsley flakes. The only thing I can think of that we don't use it on are eggs!
