Plate setter cleaning

for those who wondered how to clean the plate setter and pizza stone....

attached are a few pictures after placing the place setter and pizza stone in my self cleaning oven on a clean cycle...

all oil and old caked on food scraps are turned to ash and it looks like new....




Have:
 XLBGE / Stumps Baby XL / Couple of Stokers (Gen 1 and Gen 3) / Blackstone 36 / Maxey 3x5 water pan hog cooker
Had:
LBGE / Lang 60D / Cookshack SM150 / Stumps Stretch / Stumps Baby

  • Good idea, I may need to give it a try.  I'm usually to lazy to foil mine so to say it could use a good cleaning is an understatement.

    Or just toss em in your grill.. let it ride to 500-600 degrees and burn out.

    Recently burned up both of mine and knocked the junk off the cast iron grates and ss grates. A yearly gig that I hate doing. Toss a fan on the eggs to let the smoke billow elsewhere and not under my porch.

    The oven is a good option but not sure about the smells and it venting in my home

    I did the same thing with a good result. The only down side was a lot of smoke in the house. Did you have a problem with smoke?

    I did the same thing with a good result. The only down side was a lot of smoke in the house. Did you have a problem with smoke?
    I usually do this on a pretty day when I can open my windows...not really smoke as much as smell...
