BJ's Pizza dough a hit!

A friend suggested I try the BJ's pizza dough. 2 frozen balls for $3.29. Tried one tonight, excellent. I have always made my own and have been successful but the outcomes vary depending on the yeast, water temp, amount of time I mix the dough etc. This was easy, the dough stretched nicely and crisped up really well. I I'll surely use this again.

Great color on that pie. I just need a slice to critique the flavor and texture.

That's a professional looking pie. Very nice.
Pizza is one of my favs. but mine never look as good as yours. I'm going to try some home dough recipes from this book this weekend.

@jhl192 What was your set up and temp? My top crust never crisps up like that.

Great looking pizza for sure. Do you happen to know the brand of the dough balls?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

@kdink I struggled to get the temp over 500 degrees. I usually cook them at 650. Platesetter legs up with regular grate and BGE stone on top of that. Let it get up to temp for 45 minutes. Cooked the pie for about 13 minutes.XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

I've seen these refrigerated dough balls near the deli area at BJs and asked them for the recipe. They wouldn't even share it with their own daughter.LBGE 2013 & MM 2014Die Hard HUSKER & BRONCO FANFlying Low & Slow in "Da Burg" FL

Gotta love pizza dough balls brand named "Original Pizza of Boston" whose main office is in Rhode Island and which are actually made in Canada.“Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” ― Philip K. Diçk

The recipe that came with my Bread Machine makes FINE dough. Part of my procedure is to let it 'relax' overnight in the fridge THAN turn it into a crust.
My only 'secret' is to use OLIVE OIL where oil is called for. -
Thanks will give these a try. Publix dough is pretty good also but you have to leave it out at room temp atleast an hour before use or it's really stretchy. Pizza looks good I think it was lucky that you couldn't get the egg really hot from my experience these pre made doughs cook best around 500.
