I'm getting ready to do my first brisket on my large BGE. Suggestions on the best place to buy a nice brisket in Delaware? Costco?

Cant say how Costco is in Delaware, but they typically sell flat only. Hate to admit it but when I bought a whole packer (in the 11th hour) it was at wally world. It was fantastic, but you may have better purveyor choices-Proud resident of Missoula, MThttps://www.facebook.com/GrillingMontanahttp://grillingmontana.com

I've never seen a full packer at a Costco in MD, hope you have better luck in DE. The only place I get mine is at a local butcher shop that is also an abattoir. I've seen them at Walmart locally, but I only spend money there as a last resort.

Sorry for the beginners question - then should I waste my time with a flat or will it still be worthwhile?

I'm actually doing a 4.75 lb flat this weekend for a big batch of chili. Leftovers work well in pretty much any dish they're put into liquid, brisket chili will change your world, but it's also great in enchiladas.LBGE

I get whole packers at Meat Market just over the PA line. Not cheap, but always a good selection. Haven't ever done just a flat and from what I read, I've got no interest in starting now. It's a 302 thing . . .

@bill226 Where in Delaware are you at? There is a restaurant depot in Wilmington. Also I there is a butcher shop near Dover haas meats or over towards suddlersville md is sudlersville meat locker that I believe carry packers. I have never been to either but hear they carry what you might want.
