I know this is off topic but yall are a smart bunch.
A friend of a friend installed a window and a door for me. Not perfect, but for the price (free) I couldn't beet it. But, now I don't know how to finish some of the work. It is one sliding door and one window. The drywall on the sliding door goes right up to where the door frame begins. The drywall on the window goes to where the studs end, leaving about a 1/2 gap on the left and right of the window...which needs to be covered.
Help???
Pic of door
Close up of door where drywall meets. The outside of the door is flush outside for trimming the outside...but im at a loss for what to do here.

Hey @busmania the projects never stop! Your door looks pretty easy. Should be able to simply get some molding and put up. the window is a bit more involved
1. door - you can get 3 molding pieces and do 45 degree corners and finish nail them up (I use an air finish nailer - 18 gauge 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 long should work) https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=&url=https://www.pinterest.com/pin/211387776235790122/&psig=AFQjCNFKKIy6aiXSBioRwCbl6_AQYNW33g&ust=1452031762213319. the other way is to get two corner medallions and put those up in the top corners and then flush your molding to that https://www.google.com/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiy-panlpHKAhUI12MKHQBdAqgQjRwIBw&url=http://www.pro-handyman.com/Pro-Handyman-Blog/bid/65497/Carpentry-Try-Rosettes-Instead-Of-Mitered-Corners.html&bvm=bv.110151844,d.cGc&psig=AFQjCNFii9sOvdW-_Ohcc9a_KubNMUNG2A&ust=1452031825102945
2. Window - you will have to cut some drywall to fit inside your window sill, you want them to come out flush with your wall, put drywall corners on and mud them in. Once you have done that, then install molding just like you do your door.
hope this helps (sorry for the long links
