Columbia Floods - Brethren Impacted

Its times like these that put what is important to us in perspective. I wanted to reach out to the forum and let you know that some of our own are being adversely impacted by the floods here in Columbia. I want call their names as I have not gained their permission, but have had limited contact with some. There is significant loss of power and water in the area, and quite a few damn's are being breached by the rising waters. These (breaches) are occurring mostly in our neighborhoods, being told all is good on with Lake Murray. There are those in Columbia and around the state that are struggling at this time. I myself have been fortunate and impacted minimally.

For those who can read this, my house is open to any impacted and need a place to stay. Feel free to contact me on my cell at 678-234-8042.

For those of you Eggheads reading this outside of the state, I ask that you all please join me in prayer for your brethren and their families. Thanks in advance.

I have coworkers who lost their homes and cars.  Fortunately, all we have are flooded septic lines. The backyard is finally starting to dry out, so hopefully we can use our shower and toilets again tomorrow. You guys are awesome.

A lot of great people here! Us here in Florida know all too well what these storms can do, but the flooding is unreal!

Amazing to have people being rescued by boat in my neighborhood.  Giant Army truck pulls down our street to evacuate because of another dam failure up stream.  Crazy stuff.  Our dishwasher being broken just doesn't seem to matter anymore.   @Chubbs  - how is it in your neck of Columbia?

I can't do much up here wish I could, but I can pray the water goes down fast for you and those that are having it worse.  South Carolina has been on mind since I heard about the storm and flooding. SC played MU this Sat and wonder if they got back ok.

Chubbs is in the cross hears. He said they will be fine. I know he does not have access out as bridges supporting his area are washed out.....water (utility) is an issue. There are more dam failures in his area....this was the last i heard yesterday (Monday morning). I hope he is OK with my sharing this info....not sure what his ability to communicate with the outside looks like right now.
