I wanted to make some short rib pizza since having leftovers from the rib cook the other day. The short rib pizza had a homemade smoke gouda cheese sauce topped with rib meat, caramelized onions, mozzarella, and a little shredded gouda, finished with fresh parsley. Decided to do a meat pizza as well...pepperoni, ham cubes, hickory bacon and mozzarella, finished with fresh basil. Both were great, especially the short rib. I'm ready to cook up some more short ribs if for nothing else than to just make pizza.

@feef706 actually used a store bought crust, Golden Home Ultra Thin. We usually make the dough, but a guy at the eggfest we went to this past weekend was making pizza using these and it was really good.

At first I thought it was some sort of tortilla, but assumed it was a thin crust. I'll have to keep an eye out for those. Thanks for the idea.

Beautiful pies and thanks for the heads up. While I too normally make my own crust I will resort to a handy dandy crust from the freezer. When I do it's a ROMA brand made in St Louis. I just did a search and see that our local HyVee stores carry Golden Home Ultra Thin crusts. Guess who will have a package in the freezer shortly!Re-gasketing the USA one yard at a time

Yeah I'm a fan of ROMA crusts too, these are even thinner, almost like Imo's style. Hope you enjoy them!RRP said:Beautiful pies and thanks for the heads up. In cooking, often we implement steps for which we have no explanations other than ‘that’s what everybody else does’ or ‘that’s what I have been told.’ Dare to think for yourself.
