Looking to trade my table for a nest
Jeremiah
Posts: 6,412
My deck is finally nearing completion and it's time for the table to find another home. I'd like to put the large egg in a nest and be able to wheel it in and out of the garage while I build a new home for it.
The table is complete as in the pictures but the top is beginning to delaminate from the weather. If I was going to keep it, I'd buy some cheap ceramic tile and just tile the top surfaces.
Also so if no one is willing/ able to trade, I guess I'll be in the market for a used nest. And then at that point I'll either just give the table away, or haul it off.
I live in Aiken, SC by the way.

@Jeremiah I have a LGBE nest still in the box. I bought it thinking I'd setup my egg prior to building my table, which wasn't the case. If you're willing to pay the shipping, you can have it. No charge. (Not sure how to go about this, maybe someone else can help?)
My only thoughts, it may be cheaper to buy a new one given the distance between us. I'm just outside of Pittsburgh, PA.Large BGE - McDonald, PA -
@RedSkip wow! That's really generous of you. I'll gladly pay the shipping and more. We can do PayPal or I can send you an old fashioned check. Just let me know!Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

I had an Nest topple over when I was wheeling into my garage. The Egg shattered into a thousand pieces. When I bought a new Egg, I bought a table with wheels. It's a hell of lot more stable than a Nest.

@Jeremiah Looks like you may have a closer option, let me know how you want to proceed. @tarheelmatt may be able to help keep your costs down... just let me know!Large BGE - McDonald, PA

No dog in this but I have heard that a BGE handler is the way to move them around. Several here have them and endorse the stability and ease. Just a frictionless conduit. FWIW-Louisville; Rolling smoke in the neighbourhood. # 38 for the win. Life is too short for light/lite beer! Seems I'm livin in a transitional period.

Have you thought of removing the roof and adding casters. Just a thought.good luck

I've also got a large nest stored away -somewhere. I'm in Little Rock, and will trade it for some Diet Mountain Dew or Barq's. I'm not using it - someone should.

@tarheelmatt let's hold off for a minute. Before you spend a bunch of time trying to box and ship it, and I spend a bunch in shipping charges, maybe I'll just put the large in "storage" and make my built-in table a priority. Thanks again Matt, and @RedSkip yall are stand guys.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

That is one great looking table. I would have bought it as a restoration project. So many possibilities. DaveRichardson is a lucky guy. Good luck with you deck project @Jeremiah Hope it turns out great.

I am in Augusta and would like to see if we can work something out.

Man that looks like a nice table. Can you not incorporate it into your deck? Just throwing this idea out there...what if you added section to your deck and then raised the roof on the cooking table if needed so that it overlaps your deck roof? This would hopefully allow the smoke to vent out over the deck roof. Please refer to this professional auto-cad drawing.
Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
@hobie246 I'm waiting to see if @DaveRichardson wants it. I'll let you know if he passes. @SmokeyPitt that's a really neat drawing and I did think about something very similar to that. I really have my thoughts set on a built in bar type though. Well see as I'm really iffy about eggs and wood decks. Hence the whole nest/garage holdover until I can come up with a plan.Slumming it in Aiken, SC.
