Anybody use a chimney? I want to change lighting methods, and like the idea of a chimney but wondering how much lump actually fits into the chimney. I like fogo lump, but would really have to bust it up to fit into the chimney. And after you've got the chimney going, just dump it in the firebox? Do you then add more lump on top of that to the top?

I used to use a chimney. I never had an issue with lump not fitting into the chimney. Just dump it on lump when ready. No need to add additional lump. The only problem was when I using Ozark Oak. I had to add additional paper to the chimney or add a few wood chips at the bottom to get it started. Have you tried a paper towel soaked in vegetable oil?Steven
