SRF Pork shoulder

How long should I plan for delivery from SRF? I was asked to cook some pulled pork for my brothers wedding. Is it worth the price? I've seen numerous discussions on their meat and have been waiting for an excuse to pull the triger. I'm worried it won't make a big enough difference to justify the price. I've been really satisfied with what I get from Sam's. Thoughts?

Berkshire is far and away better for what I've had, in terms of chops. I've never tried it with low and slow parts of the pig.

About a week and a half delivery for me. Picked my ship date. Try it and see if it's worth it. I'm sure you've blown more money for less over the years.

I would love to hear how it turns out.   Looks like it is about $12 a lb...ouch...but for a special occasion why the hell not.

@doubleEgger that was my thoughts. I'm going to buy it. Its not until July though. I'll post pics when the time comes.

Keep your eyes peeled for a special. They seem to have something every week.

Not until July, that gives you time to try it out first - see if it cooks the same, etc.

I have not tried srf yet so take this with a grain of salt. But, of all the cuts of meat, i would think you'd see the least difference in a shoulder or butt for pulled pork. I have always had good success with stuff purchased at the store. There is enough fat in them to be an easy cook.

I'd get one to serve to the wedding party and do the rest from Sam's . Then you'd know whether or not it was worth it for the next time and the guests won't know any different.
