How high do you guys fill the BGE up with charcoal for long low and slow cooks? Do you stop at the top of the firebox or do you fill up into the fire ring? This would be using the plate setter and an elevated grate over a drip pan for a brisket cook. Thanks in advance, Ken

I normally filler up to the top of the fire ring.
Never bothered me to have lots of lump left after the cook.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
As long as you're starting with a mostly clean Egg, fill it. a fire can take weird paths over a great 20 hours cook and with less ccoal, there's more chance of hitting a dead end. Good luck on the big cook!Best - Jack
