Weatherproof box for Stoker

Here's the box I made yesterday for the new Stoker. The fit is perfect for the stoker and the two smaller boxes. Each one holds one of my blowers with the rain shields I made. I elevated the stoker for easier viewing and to provide extra insurance in case water got inside. Velcroed the transformer to the sidewall for extra insurance as well. Industrial strength Velcro holds the stoker to my elevated base. I used 22.5 degree fittings instead of 45's because it's easier to get the plugs through. I have a small bin for the probes that fits on top of the stoker. Thanks to the forum for this great handy tip/project.

Very nice setup. I really like the idea of the smaller containers, too.

Seriously, it worked great. It was raining hard all day long and the blower didn't have a drop of water on it.

I am working on a removable rain cover for the fan assembly, can any one give me the width (aluminum plate to aluminum plate) for the 10cfm fan

You really need to have the adapter plate from Rocks before you make the cover so you can get the screw holes and airflow cutout lined up perfectly. Your cover will need to be less than the width of the original adapter so the damper will slide over the original adapter and lock it into place.

Does the thickness of the aluminum affect the seal for the blower?

Why bend the side against the egg downward? It looks like a drip edge leading to the fan/egg connection I would think it would be best bent upward to make it all slope/drain away from the egg.
In reality, it would only be minimal water, but I am an engineer.... and as such, I over-engineer everything.

I just made a simple fix to cook some grub on a rainy day. There are no electrical connections near the front of the stoker blowers. It's bent down to utilize the existing bolt holes on the blower adapter. You are always welcome to improve on the design for your needs.

@DoubleEgger, what are the white PVC fittings called. Went to Home Depot and could not find bulkhead fittings which I thought is what you used.

Any sharp knife will work. Just take your time and be careful.

You can always drill a bunch of holes and use the knife to cut between the holes to make the cutout.
-
Started mine yesterday and used a hole saw to cut the hole. Waiting for Stoker delivery tomorrow to finish it.
