wok cleaning

Options
Loving the new wok and food. I've had gunk from cooking and have had trouble getting all of it off. Last night, as soon as I finished I poured water in and let it heat...scrubbed with the bamboo cleaner, oiled and flipped over for a few. Perfectly clean. My cast iron does the same but haven't tried the same method. How do you clean? Thanks.

I put the wok on the stove with high heat. Cut an onion in half and peel off the outside skin. I use a oven glove with the half onion to clean/season the wok inside. Light soap and water after cleaning with the onion. Oil wok afterwards

Mine gets a good scrubbing with soap and water. Then light coating of oil after hearing g it up a bit. Not cleaning a pan after cooking in it grosses me out.

heat the wok up hot, pour a 1/4 cup water in and work with the shovel, it lifts everthing stuck on the bottom like when you make gravy. wipe dry with paper towel. same with cast iron, never leaves my stove top unless im using the egg.

I treat it the exact same way as I do my cast iron.
I wash mine with hot water only, oil it, & heat until smoking.
The heat required to make the oil just begin to smoke sanitizes far better than any soap ever could.
