New Years 2015 Lucky Dinner

Spring Chicken

A favorite New Year's tradition says to eat certain foods and you will have good luck, good fortune, and lots of money during the year.

So here at the Chicken Ranch it was Blackeyed peas for good luck, cabbage for good money, pulled pork for good fortune, and cornbread for even more good luck, and leftovers for reminding me to be thrifty. Here's my dinner tonight:

That should be enough to bring me everything I hope for in 2015, but to make sure, I ate two plates-full with the hope that it would give me twice the luck with my diet.

We'll see.

Mmmm... Looks great!!! Making smoked onion sausage, collards and black eyed peas myself. Forgot all about corn bread. Doh!!

Looks very close to our lunch. Black eyed, collards, pone of crackling cornbread, fried taters and a ham I'd have gladly double smoked if anyone ever told me the dang plans....
