Redneck hot tub and seared to temp. Squash was indirect down, hulled...skillet cooked with butter, fresh garlic and Italian seasoning.

Ozark oak, no chunks. ..400 till tender. Pulled and then went from there. Dangerous question...what lump did you use?

I used @Mickey coffee rub on mine and Fiesta seasoning on Sher-bear's. Really good but not a great cut of meat. The boro lacks choice.

I've noticed that with lots of roasting veggies - they seem to be smoke sponges, even using a very neutral lump like Rockwood. At this point the only veggies I do on the egg I do direct for relatively short times (asparagus, portobello mushrooms, summe squashes, etc) or have their own covering (corn in the husk, potatoes).
