BGE steam burn today

Options
remember reading when i bought my egg to burp it to avoid flash burns from inrush of oxygen.  i've never had that issue

today on my large egg i had the entire grate cover in chicken tenders, apparently very moist tenders

bottom vent was open 1/2" & top vent barely cracked.  maybe less cracked than i thought

returned 10-15mins later to flip chicken & when i opened egg a ball of steam rushed out & scalded my wrist

chicken was already cooked & fall-apart tender

just a warning to anyone potentially trapping moisture in their egg

or an idea to anyone wanting grilled/smoked/steamed meat in 1 package

You only have to learn those lessons once. Hope you're not too badly scalded.

I hope you are OK. I always wear a mit or some form of protection when opening the egg. Also, I have only had flashback isues when using the daisy wheel,

I hope you are ok. I have experienced the flashback and remember every time now to burn it and I try to wear my welding gloves when going over 400°.
