Would you like a Kick Ash Basket for it? I would! I hate cleaning out my small.
We need to email Chad @ Kick Ash or Tom @ Ceramic Grill Store and let them know so they know if there is enough interest to start production.
My two cents.

Its a bit of a pain to clean the ashes out. I pretty much just pull the guts and scoop it all out. The lower vent is so small you cant really clean much that way. But it in no way makes me re-think my purchase. I love my small. Unless i'm doing a low and slow, I use the small 90% of the time.

I have a dedicated stainless shop vac equipped with bags (never clog) that cost $50 from Amazon. LOVE IT. I shovel out the big stuff and suck out what's left.

I use my small mainly away from home, so it gets completely cleaned out during the cool down process for transport. I scoop hot lump in a locking bucket and tear everything apart to clean & cool. I use a wisk broom to get the fine ash. If I'm at someone's place that I will return to, I leave the locked bucket in the garage away from combustables. If I'm at a picnic or I can't leave the bucket to cool, I douse it and take the wet mess with me.Flint, Michigan

So do you leave your standard grate (or Hi-que) in place, or are they no longer needed?

Pull the guts and use an old paint brush to sweep out No more than a 5min process. In between clean outs just use a modified ash tool to clean out the ash.-----------------------------------------analyze adapt overcome2008 -Large BGE. 2013- Small BGE and 2015 - Mini. Henderson, Ky.
