Instant read thermometer.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

As long as you can cook direct & indirect, make sure you have an instant read thermometer.Flint, Michigan

I probably should have started with I have;
XL
Plate Setter
BGE Digi Q
Pizza Stone
Things I was looking into were;
Raised Grid
Thermopen
L brackets for positioning lump
-
Something to raise the grid to gasket level for direct cooks. Could be as cheap as 2-3 bricks or as expensive as an adjustable rig. I used some scrap square tubing so mine was free.
I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

lol, I have been using little bricks I made from foil just for that.

I bought my Egg about three months ago and bought a bunch of eggsessories. I cook on my Egg almost every day, first cook the temp. was -10 degrees outside. Eggssories I use most are platesetter,ash tool, extended grid, pizza stone, and three tier grid for beef jerky. I did buy a bag of green egg lump and it was great, but too expensive. Now I use royal oak. Also a pizza peel and a round perforated pan.Hope this helps

Oh I forgot, a injector, very good quality and I use often.

Musts: Thermapen, maverick system or igrill, Welding gloves, Adjustable rib or place setter(depending on costs), a good knifeExpensive luxuries: DigiQNot needed but nice to have: Injector, bear claws.Things i want: SS chimney

I have a thermoworks dual probe that I really like - accurate and nice features. Just picked up the V rack today, so will see how 6 sets of baby backs does - if it works well, then it was worth it.I haven't cooked direct yet, but I will want something to raise the grill height.

Check out the AR (adjustable rig) combo from www.ceramicgrillstore.com against the platesetter. If you want the AR with the stone then save the money on the platesetter. Don't need both. Have fun!XL BGE; Medium BGE; L BGE

Yeah I forgot, also have a wicked cool injector and rib rack, bear claws too. Might get the multi level for jerky and smoked peppers. Thanks for all the good input!
