Edit: I saw something on my eggs vent , I'll edit my original post to see if that was my issue.

    I still use the ceramic cap to shut er down....then put on the eggware cap and open the bottom vent a few hours later or the next morning. It makes a HUGE difference to have the egg open and not closed up. I was getting a big moisture problem before the eggware.

    I do not think it seals up well for shutdown though...agreed
