Anyone use two maverick food probes instead of pit?

My pit probe died tonight. Temp was going from 200s to 500s to HHH to 100s, I was wondering if anyone had any issues using a food probe for the pit instead of the pit probe. My thought is that sometimes I may want to just monitor 2 pieces of meat instead of the pit. Figured getting the food probe would be fine for the pit.

    I bought a 2 pack of food probes off Amazon and use just like you are thinking. It works fine

    +1. it'll work. You just have to set the pit temp on the receiver to whatever meat temp you want.
