Hey all.....is it just me or is the ceramic and stones of the egg fairly delicate.I actually chipped the firebox of my new egg down low by the fire grate today when loading it from the store. The grate will cover the chip and it is cosmedic and doent affect the functioning of the egg.
Nothing worse than a new anything afraid to damage it...its like a new pick up and not using the bed!!!! lol
Damn OCD!!!!!

Well, I think all ceramic is delicate to sudden, hard impact...but is tolerant to stresses and most small impacts. I haven't found that "chipping" of the ceramics causes a problem..just look for a crack line, indicating worse.
