I had some of my grandkids, daughter, son and his girfriend over a while ago to make and eat some pizza. Everyone seemed to enjoy making and eating them.

Here is Tyler waiting his turn along with his Aunt Lindsey and Uncle DJ.image

Of course I had to use all of the remaining ingredients on mine.image

  • Looks fantastic. Quick question...when cooking pizza (high temp, right?) Is there a pretty good amount of smoke coming from the egg? Reason I ask is I got mine up to 700 last night and it was pretty darn smokey. I was, though, trying to brun off some residue from a turkey cook.

Thanks VI. Those two grankids are hard to cook for but they downed their pizzas without any trouble. After all they made them so they had to be perfect. \:D/

Thanks they are always a hit aroung here.

I don't find doing pizzas produce that much smoke. You may have been burning off all of the accumulation of stuff from prior cooks.

Nice looking pizzas. Looks like everyone had a great time. Pizza is always great for the kids.
    Geaux Tigers!!!
  • i haven't made my own yet.  We have been buying the Papa Murphy's and the kids love them.  About 425 on the plate setter with the paper tray that it comes on.  I have noticed that I have to rotate the pizza where it hangs over the plate setter to keep that part from getting to dark.

I don't have that problem since i cook mine on an XL with a large stone on top of the XL platesetter.

  • I would agree with you Chief.  A true pizza stone or the xl would do the trick but I did not want to spend the money when I already spent a fortune on the stand and egg.
