Has anyone read the book Low & Slow?

So my wife got me a bunch of stuff for my egg for Christmas, including the book Low & Slow by Gary Wiviott. Has anyone else read and used his methods? At first I a was confused because it is written for WSM and offset, and Kettle smokers. However, after reading through it I liked how it gave information on how to make a lot of marinades, brines, rubs, and etc on your own. I'm still a little unsure though how I feel about it as a whole. Any feed back would be appreciated, positive or negative.
