It's probably the hamburger patty. I also made some sausage patty's to go on the Texas biscuits.
There's also Texas grits, Texas muffins, Texas ham sandwiches, etc.
No, before you ask, I'm from Louisiana. I just try to make cooking more fun than it is already.

Oh, I can see it is a burger now. Thought you were whittling a pork chop in the shape of TX.

What is a chooped "pickled" jalapeno? Do you buy them pickled already, or something you do?
-
I'm using the ones from the spring garden that my wife canned. When I'm out, I buy Old El Paso brand.

Oops. My recipe file is really old (many are pre-BGE days). I change the recipes on file when I notice. This one slipped by me. -

Here is our recipe for sweet pickled jalapenos...
Here is a recipe we use to make Sweet Cucumber Chips...I just substituted the jalapenos for cucumbers.
Ingredients:
7 #'s of jalapenos or pickling cucumbers
2 cups of pickling lime
2 gal water
Mix lime and water thoroughly then pour over jalapenos...soak for 24 hrs...then drain & wash off lime...cover with fresh water and rinse...change the water every hour for 3 hours...then drain
In a seperate container mix 5 lbs of sugar, 7 cups of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup water, 1 small box of whole pickling spice (tied in a bag), 4 sticks of cinnamon, 2 tsp salt, bring to a boil and pour over jalapenos and let stand overnight. Then cook for 35 minutes at a soft boil. Wash the jars and put pickled jalapenos in jars & seal. Seal jars & turn jars upside down to set seal. Let sit for 24 hours. Then eat & enjoy.
