Big Green Egg - EGGhead Forum - The Ultimate Cooking Experience...
We hope you all got to celebrate those tasty food holidays last week, we sure enjoyed them! We are even more excited about the beginning of fall, for so many reasons, but mainly for experiencing the cool, crisp air while being outside cooking up the best recipes the season has to offer. We especially love these Beer Pork Tenderloin and Ground Beef Acorn Squash recipes! Fall is upon us, and it's a great time for getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

Cute doggie pictures, woof, woof! Here's a shot of today's ribs that I didn't get to cook over the looong weekend. Did a little improv and experimented a bit. The two pieces are from a rack of 'regulars' which I trimmed ala 'St. Louis' style. Did a brief brine using a FNC recipe and then dusted generously with John Henry's 'Pecan' rub. Cooked indirect @ 250F for 6 hours, turning and spraying every 30 min. after the first few hours (no foil). I did not use any sauce as I wanted to use the brine/combo. as a starting point. Ribs are on 'hold' under foil in a low-heat oven and I'll post a follow-up later. Happy Eggin'!!~~

just jumpin on the Woosday band wagon here...
Ever since this Spring we have had this little tree frog living between the bottom of our mail box and the post. He also loves the nearby rain gauge as his personal sauna! My wife calls him Ferdy and greets him every morning!

BTW last week we observed Ferdy had an overnight fling and his girl friend Gerdy was in the sauna with him! Me thinks we'll be having a bunch of little Ferdys and Gerdys swimming in the rain gauge shortly...

We recently returned from a week with our friends, Mike & Jill, in Seattle, Victoria and Whistler, BC. Here are a few pics worthy of Woosday.

Jana (The Princess) and I at sunset on the Vancouver-Victoria ferry:

    A later, better shot:

Fresh, live crab for breakfast on a Victoria pier:

Female Orca from the J-pod of San Juan Island:

"Touristy" pic on Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler. Us southerns don't see much snow, especially in late June.

Obligatory food pic - Rim Rock Cafe in Whistler. Salmon stuffed with whipped goat cheese and lumps of lobster - awesome!

Beautiful treat from our condo balcony on our last day in Whistler:

Jana and Mike ran in the Seattle Rock & Roll Half Marathon on our last day of vacay. Finisher's pic:
