I bought a peel the other day. Just can't decide what to put on the first pizza, good ol' peperoni or maybe try some chicken or pulled pork. I even bought the flour and yeast, but I am going to buy dough from my local pizza guy till I get experienced. they sound like fun. I had a tri tip pizza at eggfest that got me hooked..

I ALMOST abandoned pizza on the egg.I burnt so many at first,I was depressed. Now I go ...platesetter legs up,grid and pizza stone on top of that, preheat for at least 45 mins in a CLEAN egg.Go easy on the toppings and I think 400-450 dome is hot enough.Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips, Hoss.

That setup is foolproff and you can tweak it to suit you from there. You get to eat all the mistakes and practice more too.

You might consider having a practice pizza cook before your pizza night with the kids. It might help with the learning curve. Might help. Either way I wish you well.

You are gonna love pizza on the egg. Once you get it down, you will never want to order a pizza again. Good luck on your first attempt.

I did piza on the egg last weekend. It was awesome, but I did have some trouble getting the pizza from the pizza peel onto the pizza stone on the egg. Am looking for some tips on that.

I cooked my first pizza on the egg last Saturday.
I used the placesetter legs down, with the pizza stone sitting on the feet the egg is supposed to sit on on top of the placesetter.
I read the directions that came with the pizza stone, cooked it at 425 degrees for about 12 mins and it was awesome.
BBQ chicken, banana peppers, onions, pinapple and BACON.
I threw papa johns phone number away. It was awesome. :woohoo:
