Cypress Stain

I have acquired a BGE Cypress table now I want to stain it a darker brownish stain maybe something like a cherry wood stain color. Whats the best stain to do this? I am then going to use the spar varnish from Cabot to seal it.

Any quality woodstain will work fine, use whatever your local hardware or home center carries. Min-Wax products are a favorite of mine
