Ok I am geting my egg in less than 2 weeks.. I do 3-4 slabs of BB ribs on my offset smoker easily. What is the best way to do mulitple slabs on a large? What is the normal amount of ribs most people do on a large.. My friends and neighbors are already wanting to make orders. Thanks

Wow this is so simple. I just used the search feature of the forum and found all this for you. Every rib question has been answered here.

Welcome, tacodawg! Hopefully, I can answer your question without being as condescending as Phil was. He is certainly correct - the search feature can be quite useful - but he often forgets he was new to this forum at one time.
Here is a link to a post where a guy did 20 St Louis style ribs on a large. That's a bit extreme, but basically, if you can fit them on the egg, you'll be fine. The tighter they are jammed together, the longer it will take, but jam them you can.

Good luck - and enjoy your ribs!!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

3 slabs of baby backs laying flat is no problem and could have added 3 more on the lower level
With a rib rack it's as many as you can jam in there. With a couple of aftermarket toys you'll be amazed at how much you can cook at once. -
I've cooked 8 racks at a time using a rib rack. It was pretty crowded, but cooked very well.
Enjoy your new egg. -
Thanks.. it looks like 4-6 slabs are not to difficult.. It seems it is a mix between using two levels or a rib rack.. I like keeping them flat just because that is what I am used to. Thank for all the help. Search is great but sometimes a new idea is out there. Can't wait to get the egg and cooking.

I am wondering if you will be going to Eggs By The Bay Eggfest. I look forward to meeting you. You seem like very up to date on cooking on these eggs. I am going, anxious to start smoking on the egg. I have been using a off set for many years. This just looks a lot more versitle. Thanks for your posts and help.

I'm a little late and you already have your answers, but here I go anyway...
I use a rib rack and 6 racks of BB is no problem.
I did 9 racks last weekend and while it worked and everyone liked them (but no one ever complains about free ribs), I know I usually achieve a better product. If I have 6 or less (BBs)I have a bit more room for working with them, saucing, foiling or whatever I want to do.
I wish I took a picture, it looked like a big pile 'o meat!
I don't think I've ever done more than 2 racks of spares at a time. between the ribs and the trimmings there isn't a whole lot of space left on the grid.
