mulberry wood - smoke okay?

Have an old mulberry tree in the front yard that is slowly dying out limb by limb. Probably only one more year before I'll have to take it all the way down. Is this wood okay to smoke with?
Been using apple, cherry and pecan wood but could have a near lifetime supply of mulberry if it's any good.

I've tried it. The trimmed dead limbs didn't work too well but the cut 'live' limbs with a little seasoning were just fine. A sweet smell and taste like most fruit woods. If any question just burn a small piece and test the smell. What ever the smell is it will impart that taste to your food. Mike

Thanks for the input. I'll test it out when I take the whole tree down.

If you have a good sized tree it also makes great firewood. Better then oak. I got some last winter that is split and stacked that I will burn in about two years, but after reading this post I am going to pull some and run it through the band saw to make some chunks for smoke.
