Hello Gang,
I realize this is off topic, but my 10 day California mandated waiting period is up. I finally got to bring 'er home.
Can't wait to get out and use it.
I looked around a bunch and finally found one used. For the price, I couldn't pass it up. :woohoo:
Inspection shows hardly any wear at all. No smile on the barrel, no indentation on the back of the slide/breech. My best guess is maybe two to three boxes of rounds through it.
Not bad for my first handgun!
Thanks for letting me share,
Ted

That's a beauty. Gotta love Springfield Armory. But, a TEN day wait??? No wonder I why I live in Georgia and not California!!! Beautiful weapon, let us know how it does at the range!
Bob -
You started out BIG! I started out with a 22LR when I was 6 Years Old as my Christmas present.BGE'er since 1996 Large BGE 1996, Small BGE 1996, Mini BGE 1997

I have more than I should list here. I don't want to draw any attention from the ATF!!!
-
Nice. If you are near the upper central valley there are some good ranges in the Tracy/Manteca/Stockton area. We would also go to the Mojave.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx

Bob,
Yeah, the 10 waiting period is insane. Only in California. :pinch: Plus there is the $35.00 safety certificate, the mandatory FLL transfer, taxes, etc. All in all, it ads up to about $100.00 more per weapon. Don't even try to get a concealed carry permit. *sigh*
Grillin & Chilllin:
Ha! Yeah, I thought about going with a 9mm or .40, but then I figured, Buy once. Cry once.
Plus the TRP has the same initials as I do, so I really didn't have much of a choice.
I'm headed to the range in the morning to see how she shoots. -
This is my baby. It is a joy to shoot and you will like yours!

Very nice! I've had a Para P13 .45 for well over ten years bought back when the high cap mags were not legal (Thanks Bill) but thankfully anything they had manufactured before the ban started could be sold. Anyway that's a beauty:)

Good looking Kimber.
Do you have the laser trace grip? How effective is that during day light hours?
T -
I've only had to shoot people at night so I don't know :(
It works well. No issues at the range during practice but I have not used tried it in broad daylight. I am sure the sight of it would be enough of a deterrant. This is the one I have my eyes on now.

Beautiful toy
Made/assembled right here in Geneseo, IL
Put money down on a XD 9mm bi-tone when they first came out. Backordered for so long I just got my money back. :(
Couldn't even buy them out of SA direct. :(
A couple of weeks ago Gander Mountain had the XDs on sale for $500, very tempting.
Enjoy the new(er) pieceBrandonQuad Cities

Took this toy out of the closet and dusted it off a few weeks ago. A lot of fun at the range.
-
FlaPoolguy,
What is that?
T -
Thanks Focker!
I was looking for a TRP or an Operator because they are Assembled here in the states.
I had thought about the XD for a long time, but in the end I really wanted the .45 acp.
If you can still get one, You can't beat that 500 price.

Tec 9 9mm with a 20 round clip,, fun to shoot but not reliable for self defense.

When we lived in CA, CCP was easy to obtain in Fresno county. The sheriff's department was very sympathetic to the cause.
If you think buying is a PIA, trying moving out of the state...talk about hoops/$$ to jump thru just to get your registered guns out of CA.Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx -
Nice toys guys . . .
Sometimes you feel like a nut . . .
Some times you don't . . .
Then you just have one of those days . . .
Top is a Ruger Mk III Hunter .22LR w/ Leupold 2X - 8X scope.
Middle is a S&W Model 29 .44 Mag w/10 5/8" barrel and adjustable front sight. They sure don't make 'em like they used to!
Bottom is a Remmington XP 100 .223 w/ Burris 2X - 7X scope

All you need now is a scope for your 44. :woohoo:

I was going to ask if that was the infamous Tac9. I can see how it would be fun to rip through the rounds with it
-
The .44 is big enough I don't even have to load it, it just scares the targets away.
Thanks.
