Any tips on getting my egg down to temp. I have everything shut up tight, no wind, can't get it below 350

Once you overshoot and heat up the ceramics, it can take a long time...if you can get the fire out, and open it up without reigniting the coals, that may help it cool down quickly, but your fire has to be fully snuffed first...

Be patient, it takes a lot longer to cool down than to heat up. -RP

As the others have said..it takes a long time to cool it back down if its been hot for any length of time...that said...you can open the dome and add fresh lump to the coals and leave the vents just barely cracked open...that will lower the temp for sure..but it will also put off smoke for a little while that you don't really wanna cook on..crack the vents, dump in some lump, let the smoke clear and adjust your vents for your desired temp...in the future..sneak up on your desired temp by gradually closing the top and lower vents as you get closer..

Thanks for the help everyone. Got the temp down and about 1-1/2 hours into the cook at a steady 220. We may be eating a little late this evening.
