WE are driving to Florida from Michigan in a few weeks. Is there any places right off I 75 that I might be able to pick up some pecan wood for smoking?

A good chance most any big grocery store or box store (Home Depote or Low's) will also have pecan in the south as well. Have a safe trip.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
You have email...

I rarely see Pecan in the big box stores around here. Some of the boutique type places (i.e. Georgia Backyard) carry pecan, but most big box have hickory and mesquite.
Lots of pecan orchards advertise along the interstate. Hop off and visit one and they may let you pick up a few deadfall branches. Pecan trees drop limbs all the time. -
Some of the orchards probably sell pecan firewood, if you don't mind cutting it in chunks yourself. I got a bunch of apple that way.

I guess it could be seasonal as well.
My last road trip to Florida it was easy to find. Did not think it would change that much here in the south. We have more trouble getting the fruit woods but can normally be found after a few stores.
Have you ever looked at Academy Sports?
Take care,Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
YES. Stop by my house in Atlanta and I will fill you up with all the pecan wood you want at no cost. I had two big pecan trees to come down last fall and it is all cut up and on the ground ready for you to stack in your trunk.
