I actually set a E Z Up on my deck over the egg & tied it down to the deck. Hopefully that will do most of what I need. I'll give Matthew your congrats, thanks Doug.

Came roaring thru here about 4:30 am lots of wind 1/4 inch of hard rain. Wind has just now died down. Batten down the hatches.

Good luck - the front finally pushed through here (south Alabama) around 6 or 7. It rained off and on all day but only got really stormy at the end of the day, lasting only an hour or so. It forced the cancelation of all Mardi Gras parades today/tonight :angry: This is the monster Mardi Gras weekend leading up to Mardi Gras Day on Tuesday. Be safe!

It is just raining steadily here now, so no problem at all. The fire is almost ready for the meat. Once I get it on I can stay inside and watch for smoke coming out of the top and monitor meat temp with a maverick.

That is great news, not the cooking in the thunderstorm, but about Matthew. I know you are a proud Pappa.

At least you aren't having to sleep outside in the thunderstorm as has happened in the past.
