new path to portion control: the Mini!

Yesterday, I fired up my Mini for the first time in 2011, and it dawned on me that the Mini is a diet aid. The 9" cooking surface offers built-in portion control! I usually cook several packages of chicken drumettes (I know, the fattiest part of the chix), but exactly 12 drumettes fit on the Mini. No opportunities to overindulge. Cooked a skirt steak, too: same thing. I had to cut it into thirds, which meant I put away 2/3 of it for later.

So if you're bad at portion control, get a Mini.

We switched to 9" plates.Seems to help as long as you don't pile it on vertically.
