BGE Regular Maintenance

Hello All
I did my weekly BGE Regular Maintenance and then cooked dinner. A nice Ribeye with a large deckle for me and the wife wanted chicken breast. We did some parsley potatoes with a salad. After the thorough cleaning of the small BGE I fired up to 550* so I could cook steak and chicken. Steaks went on for 7 minutes then a flip and added the breasts. Cooked another 7 (flipping the breast after 3 minutes) and checked temp with ThermoPen. Needed a couple more minutes and then pulled Ribeye at 137 and chicken was 162*. After the regular maintenance the small BGE fired up quick, got to desired temp within 20 minutes and delivered another awesome dinner. FYI our small BGE was our first back in 1996 and as you can see still has the original firebox, ceramic grate, and basically all its original components. TLC goes a looong way. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend

You are really good to your egg! Weekly cleaning? I think mine could be on the show hoarders when looking at her. She has collected anything and everything. Will have to clean her up in a few months once it warms up. The food looks great!"The pig is an amazing animal. You feed a pig an apple and it makes bacon. Let's see Michael Phelps do that" - Jim Gaffigan
