And I stole it from her for my dinner! :silly:
Larry from The BBQ Grail (MOINK! inventor) runs a monthly challenge for a few of us. You have to create a meal using 4 mystery ingredients and at least the protein has to be cooked with live fire. This month's secret ingredients were:
Lamb chops, blood oranges, napa cabbage and elbow macaroni
Lamb chops? I don't like lamb! I've never liked lamb when I've had it at restaurants. But I'd never had it on the Egg either.
Marinated them in red wine vinegar, oil, garlic, salt, pepper, and oregano for about 30 minutes. Then grilled them direct on my Egg direct at 400f for 5 minutes per side, pulled them at 140f.
To my surprise, I like lamb....only when I cook it!~
(I used the napa in a gratin but I cooked it in the Oven since Alexis' Egg was out of coal, the macaroni was a quick toss with red pesto, and the orange was a salad course)

Thanks but it's not a competition really. There's not voting or anything. We just do it and then compare notes on how each of us approached the challenge.
I have to admit it has pushed me because I would have NEVER tried lamb otherwise.Knoxville, TN

Great post Chris.
Most people that don't like lamb will like grilled lamb chops and lamb pops (small lamb racks).
Your meal looks so good.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Looks like a pretty good meal from here. I tried to search for some lamb, the 2 stores I checked says they don't carry it unless it's in season.
Guess I'll have to keep looking
Nice Job. -
The closer we get to Easter Holiday some should pop up.
Or try Sam's Club or Costco and such.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

Yeah, if you had given them to me to eat without knowing it was lamb, I wouldn't have guessed it was lamb.Knoxville, TN

I found mine at Sam's Club, of all places. I about fell down when I saw them. I thought I was going to have to get them from Fresh Market, Earth Fare or somewhere like that because the grocery stores around here do not carry anything except ground lamb.Knoxville, TN
