I just bought a 14 inch non-stick pizza pan (the kind with the holes in it) to use on my egg when I cook shrimp, scallops, etc. so that they don't fall through the grilltop. On the reverse of the label (of course where you cant see it until you buy it) it states "Do not use bakeware over open flame." The technical description of the pan is "professional quality 1mm carbon steel with a scratch resistant non-stick surface." If I use this over open flame will it just ruin the finish of the side facing the flame? Or am I risking some type of poisonous chemical leeching into my food at high temps? I dont care about ruining the finish but I don't want to get sick...BTW I bought it at Marshall's for six bucks so if I gotta scrap it no big loss.
