I have posted previously about this, here we go again. Last winter I bought royal oak at the walmart in lockport illinois for 6.37 per 10lb bag. Last summer, it rose to 8.97 a bag. I went today, and its back down to 6.37 a bag. I bought 5. Probably should have bought more. My personal hoard is at 10 bags.

Dirtyburger, I was going to call and harass you for never organizing that bulk lump purchase, but I figured you wouldn't have been awake or coherant from the holidays. Plus, I would have unleashed a verbal tirade that would still be suspened over lake michigan. Lol.

  • We are consistent at the $6 + range, spring, summer, fall and winter.
    I guess I'm blessed, but I wish I could catch a break!

just trying to be helpful here - OK? You should have asked someone "in authority" to verify that $8.87 price as it clearly was in error. Wally World's price from coast to coast was $6.37 for the last couple years. They base their restocking inventory on sales volume so no - to low sales means one less source. We have 3 WM in our area and 1 never carries it, another carries it "in season" and the 3rd carries it year around! Yup, and at $6.37 a bag!

  • I should have asked at the time, I am by no means trying to spread misinformation.

I do know that it is very common to see prices differ regionally/seasonally. I am not versed on walmarts pricing model, so I took it for face value. Around here, many places have different prices on the same item, so I didn't think it was unreasonable to expect the same at walmart.

Regardless, if nothing else, for any local people who need royal oak, they have some at 6.37. All I seem to ever see around here is cowboy and that gets frustrating.
