    Mineral oil is another option as a protective coating for metals exposed to the elements. I've had good luck using it on tools and knifes, gave my DFMT a coating when new. Still looking good after 20+ cooks.

    The advantage over fat based cooking sprays is the petroleum base of mineral oil. This may not matter as the DFMT sees plenty of fat during usage.
