  • Just made some chops tonight. Made a rub using 2 TBL hidden valley ranch mix, 1 tsp paprika and Cheyenne pepper (each), and 1/2 tsp black pepper and salt (each). Grill direct to 150. Turned out great.

  • My wife and I get a 1/4 about once a year. Works out great. Better than what we can find from the local grocery. We end up paying (after butchering) about the same price/lbs as 85/burger for everything. Good bargain in my opinion.
  • A friend if mine did this exact thing and ran over his garden fence which was temporarily down. Whoops. Quite a mess getting that fence off the blade.
  • I use these. They work well. Just don't hold the hot item too long.

  • no worry, when I clicked on the photo it rotated itself right side up.  don't let your 4 legged friends tip that fryer over them please, be safe! No worries. The fryer was off and cold. I just didn't put it away after lunch. The cord was accessibl…

  • No. Really cool way to cook a steak. And @hapster I'm going to miss your pictures this week. They're always amazing.
  • I really liked the caveman style steak I did a few nights ago. It will be my preferred method from here on.
  • Thanks @nolaegghead good to know for next time when I cook this for swmbo. She prefers medium. The one I did last night was barely medium rare.
  • Durangler said: Alright Kempy, Where'd ya find the cooking utensils?? The beef looks great too as does your furniture! Gift from a friend who knows my passion for all things Egg and Broncos related.
  • Nicely done!
  • Looks good! Now can/will someone explain to me why all these pictures are posted sideways?  Maybe because I'm posting from my iPhone. On my phone, the small version is sideways but the inserted version appears normal. Sorry but I don't know how…
  • I personally think that steak looks just right!! You may try a cooling rack next time instead of a plate, the plate seems to pull to many juices out. I don't have a rack yet but use skewers laid across a plate to keep the meat from touching the plat…
  • Well the steak turned out pretty good. The best I've made so far. But plenty of room to be had. This one was a little under cooked. Swmbo would not have liked. On the plus side, it turned out very tender.
  • @rrp no apologies necessary. The bad part about making that table is that swmbo wants me to build some more stuff. Next on the list is the storage cabinet. It will complete the set. Egg table, patio set and the storage cabinet.
  • @ hapster thanks it was that difficult just time consuming with the finish. The ribeye is resting now.
  • No. That is the patio table I built.
  • @hapster you my friend are an idea man.
  • Looking forward to trying it. Swmbo is away for the weekend so I wanted to give this a shot solo before cooking it for her.
  • Using a little of Mickey's rub on it.
  • Thanks. I will pull the grate and let her rip. Might have to replace gasket later. @rrp
  • Ask questions beforehand. Get recommendations on what to bring, like bait, lures, etc. learns the state regulations. Size and fish limits. In my experience most anglers are eager to help.

  • Dang! Change in plans. The in-laws just informed us they are heading this way. Party is canceled for us. Putting the in-laws in charge of all sides as penance. Glad I had a half leg of lamb in the fridge. My first one one the egg.
  • Very scary. Especially considering I just put my egg in a wood table.

  • I get mine from Tommy at Callahan Autoparts in Sandusky, Ohio.
  • I would actually go to a running store for your first pair.  Make sure to take a pair of well used shoes with you so they can look at the tread.  Running shoes these days can be somewhat specialized as to running style.  The correct pair of shoes ca…
  • @Kempy‌ that's a very nice table sir! You did a great job!! Thanks. Can't wait to start the storage cart. Considering what I want to do for a top.
  • Built mine the weekend before last. Finally got around to putting the LBGE tonight.
  • Hmm, in that picture I posted the difference between the shelf and the top should be 15". So then 17" plus the 2" from the paver, a difference of about 4" should be pretty close to were I'd like it to be. Thanks for confirming. Hopefully everythi…
  • Stidrvr said: @kempy one other thing I thought of, when using the the 1x6's for the lower shelf, the way the spacing is between the boards, the feet on the table nest fall right where the gaps are between the boards. This is another reason I ch…
