  • Egg here also.  I'll overnight a pork butt and then do a spatchcock turkey Thanksgiving morning.  A second turkey will go on while we eat (my daughters boyfriend's family will get a special treat too).
  • I'm getting ready to put a brisket on this afternoon for an overnight cook and have always wondered how the point and the flat cook times worked.  I presume most people would use the point for burndt ends but want to see what experts say.
  • I'm still waiting for pictures of the activities.  I'd have come for the festivities if I didn't have a family dinner planned Sunday and can't believe all the fun I'll be missing.  Went to Tulane University and I still fondly remember laying in the …
  • I want to give a hearty thanks to all of you for helping a weary traveler find decent grub.  This is an amazingly helpful forum and a wonderful group of guys and gals.  I hope I can return the favor to each and every one of you.
  • I think I hit Des Moines later in the trip mcardella.  And thanks for those suggestions.  I'll definitely try one of them.
  • Dang Foghorn, I'm already past Memphis.  BTW the roads are terrible in that area.
  • I've had Arthur Bryant's and it is delicious.  Maybe I can get a to go bag of Q

  • Well I went to Saws in Homewood for lunch today at Danny's suggestion.  Unfortunately it was closed for July 5th, 6th and 7th.  I was very disappointed since it looked exactly like a BBQ joint should look.  I doubt I'll be going through Homewood on …
  • Thanks Danny.  I should be able to make that by lunchtime if I can just get going.

  • Cooked to perfection too.  It's breakfast time but that makes my mouth water.
  • Thanks for the suggestion on Missoula.  I'll be leaving Yellowstone and heading to Glacier.  Helena looked like the quickest route to Glacier but I may just alter my plans and travel thru Missoula and then go back through Helena.  Such beautiful cou…
  • Whoops, pushed post before finishing
  • I'd like more info on the tandoori too.  What size skewers did you use for the XL?  Pics would be great too.  BTW I've never had a similar problem.
  • I've done both and see little difference except with the V-rack, I have something else I have to clean.
  • Congratulations and now the fun begins
  • I found out the ones at my Walmart  in Fayetteville, Ga. are select at $2.58/lb.  I may take others advice and keep looking for choice or if a smaller size comes available, I'll pick it up based on no complaints about the selects.
  • I guess I'll have to go back and get one based on all the comments.  I'll also look again at price/pound and see if they are grade stamped.  Hopefully they'll be about the same price SmokeyPitt found in Georgia.
  • BYS1981 said: What grade is the brisket? That matters more than what store the brisket is bought from. I'm not sure on the grade.  I asked one of the stockers but they couldn't tell me.  I didn't notice it on the package either.
  • Let us know how it turns out.  Quick pizza dough would be great if it's tasty.
  • How many people does it take to lift the lid?  That thing is a monster.
  • I've definitely had to bail out and use ad hoc for a cook tonight.  Hopefully you, GoodTimes, can get it straightened out and with TheShaytoon's help I know you will.  Thanks.
  • I have a netgear router and I think it may be the problem.  My guru has been working fine until lately so I switched back to ad hoc mode.  I'll come back later to see how yours has been resolved rather than bother both you and theshaytoon
