  • I cook a lot of pizza and always do legs down, large egg stone on PS. Make sure you give plenty of time to warm up(15-20 minutes at cooking temp before putting pizza on). Used spacers before and didn't tell a difference. Use parchment paper to make …
  • Thanks everyone! Great advice

  • BGE cast iron as well. Burgers are delicious on it!!
  • I think that is a good deal. Egg alone retails for $849 plus tax here. I'd offer $350 and see what he says. It won't technically be under warranty but I bet a dealer wouldn't give you too thought of a time if something cracked.
  • Thanks for all the help! Turned out great. Liberal amount of salt and pepper and added some raising the steaks DP. Cooked at 275 for 2 hours. Pulled at 115, rested, then seared at 500 on all sides. Had several children eating so the more well done p…
  • @R2Egg2Q no I haven't had any issues with it. I usually feel the bottom to see if too much heat is getting to it and it is barely warm. Ready to take it tailgating and camping this fall.
  • Forgot the pic.
  • Well it turned out pretty well. A little dryer than I would have liked but a good first cook. We had quite a spread of sides to go with it: squash casserole, tomato pie, cheese grits, cheese biscuits(red lobster kind which are awesome to make little…
  • Put it on at 11 last night. JD oak chips used. Got it stabilized at 250. Checked this morning and had moved about 2 degrees. Cooking in the rain so don't get to sit outside and enjoy it but at least the egg is doing its job!!
  • I have found some oak!! I will let you know how it turns out. Putting it on after a late dinner tonight. I haven't cooked a brisket yet but many butts and ribs. Figured there wasn't a better day to do it than the 4th!
  • Here it is frying some fish last night!
  • Big fan of the mini. I used to think it was just a toy. Use it 4/5 cooks now. Coked a drunk chicken for Memorial Day, can fit 3-4 steaks or chicken breasts and is ready to go soon. Make sure you get the new MK-II fire ring to fit the plate setter an…
  • Mini! Perfect for up to 4 people. I have the mini medium and large and primarily use the mini. I'd get it and an egg carten
  • Mini is amazing. I have the large and medium as well but use the mini the most. Just ordered an Egg Carten. As far as the plate setter does your Mini have the new fire ring? The plate setter is designed for the newest one so check on that first.

  • Big fan of the Super Peel.
  • @philicious I have one as well. I think a local guy came around and said he made them. Fairly simple yet works well. I will try to find the name out.
  • I will be headed over on Thursday. 3rd year in a row. My wife's grandfather was a member and her uncle is now so I am lucky enough to get the invite.
  • I was there last weekend and tried a new spot called cooter browns at the end of St Charles. Amazing hole in the wall. Fresh oysters, po boys, fried seafood, etc. also am a big Dragos fan.
  • I've ordered the mini plate setter and cast iron grid. Thoughts on the CGS raised grid? I love the mini!! Price just went up to about $450 though...
  • Auburn or Birmingham area would be good with me. Auburn has Chewacla state park and I know Birmingham has several.
  • I am in Auburn, AL and my family owns a store that is a dealer. Lots of places to stay and things to do. Most weekends things are pretty open here besides football(even with our horrific year last year!) Let me know if I can do anything to help. The…
  • My family runs a store that sells Eggs and we just did an order 2 weeks ago and I didn't see a mini plate setter. I assume it is an after market one but I'm sure someone here has used one? I have a mini personally and would love them to come out wit…
  • I did AE's for the SuperBowl for the first time. They were a big hit!!! All of this looks good!
  • Thanks everyone! I'm thinking of the swinging grate from CGW. I don't have one for myself so I may be ordering 2 of them!!
  • Thanks guys it turned out great! (We did not need it or the 48 bottles of wine my wife bought but hey whose keeping score). The tenderloin was a hit! Always appreciate y'alls insight.
  • Thanks guys! Not sure how I made this mistake but glad I asked here first! I really don't want to cook any more food as we have a ton but happy wife happy life or whatever they say... Any good tenderloin rubs you recommend?
  • http://www.dadcooksdinner.com/2009/09/grilled-thin-pork-chops-quick.html This is a great recipe I've used
  • That's a pretty good deal. Also consider you're saving yourself sales tax from a store. Id offer $1000 cash
  • I always leave mine just like you said and have never had a problem. It always has that beautiful smell of charcoal and meat when I open it up for my next cook!!!
