  • If its not too much trouble post a picture of how you have them stacked on the eggs. I have a big cook coming up in a couple of weeks and I'm looking for "butt arrangement" tips. Thanks.

  • See my post below under the topic "Cooked the Gasket"
  • If you replace it with the Nomex gasket be careful not to stretch the Nomex (not even a little) when you install it. I installed the Nomex gasket on my large BGE a couple of months ago and I did not think I was stretching the gasket but the gasket …

  • Yep. No doubt, it's time to sell. After all, we couldn't possibly know something that Paula and Tyler don't know...
  • I've reheated leftover ABTs by taking them out of the fridge and letting them get near room temp and then heating them in the oven at 250-300 until they are warm -- not at good as right off the grill but not bad.

  • Thanks to both of you for the help... Now to get 'er going and have a good night's sleep with a 10# butt smoking away...

  • Thanks for the info. I am not the only person supplying BBQ for the holiday. Others have committed to cook as well so I will cook as much as the Large will hold! Thanks again.
  • Great! Thanks for the help.
  • I have found ABSCO to be pretty high so I tyically order online. I did buy some WG lump from the guy across from Mark's.
  • I grew up here and then moved away for 10 years and moved back 8 months ago. Where's your favorite place around town to by BGE's or BGE supplies?
  • There are several eggers on the forum from around the state -- just not sure how many live in Birmingham.
  • I live in Birmingham off Hwy 280. I have been an egger for about 1 1/2 years.
  • Great idea.... Where'd you buy the 3 legged turkey?

  • I have not attempted picture posting yet. I will try and learn to do that this week. I had 1 kid and one adult that thought it was a little too spicy. The kid put a little honey one it and scarfed it down. The adult took the skin off and ate 2 piec…
  • Thanks. I figured if the kids thought it was too spicey I could probably smear a little honey on the chicken...

  • I got this one from BENTE a while back and I really like it. Its a big hit whenever I serve it with ribs or pulled pork. You can adjust the heat to achieve the fiery finish you want. Bente’s BBQ Sauce from the Big Green Egg Forum INGREDIENTS:…
  • This sounds pretty good. I will try this and Chris Lilly's recipe that others have suggested. Thanks for the replies everyone.
  • I can understand why your neighbor is irked... Night after night you taunt him with the bouquet of aromas that eminate from your eggs and waft through the neighborhood. He can't take it... feed the man before he goes postal on you !!!
  • CW, Post a picture of the setup the next time you cook 6-8 butts on a large egg. I have a large eggmand I am planning on cooking for a large group for Memorial Day so being able to stack 6-8 boston butts on a large egg at one time would be great. …
  • They are all good but Swamp Venom is my favorite.
  • Sorry to hear the bad news... I share your pain. I bought a large BGE at the 2006 Eggtoberfest, hauled it from the mother ship to Nashville and broke it unloading it. Fortunately, I bought it using my AMEX card and they actually replaced it due to…
  • I agree with those who recommend getting the large first and then adding a smaller egg later (or biting the bullet and getting the large and smaller egg at one time -- the cost is about the same as an XL egg). As the others have said - 2 eggs gives…

  • It's possible if his dome temp gauge is off. Mine was off by 15 degrees. I have read posts on the forum of temp gauges that were off by 50 degrees - which could happen if it was twisted during egg assembly which could rotate the gauge and throw o…
