  • If you vac seal the meat, then you can just drop the bags into a big simmering pot of water since you don't have a sous vide. No loss of moisture in a vac sealed bag. I usually add some liquid before vac sealing.
  • He had one medium and 2 smalls left yesterday. Lots of eggcessories for 25% off list. Great prices on the eggs.

  • I light my fire by rubbing 2 sticks together to burn wood I chopped 12 months ago. Hauled the wood to the house in a horse drawn carriage that I built after mining the raw material to make steel and forging the hammer and nails used to hold the lumb…
  • I use thin ribeye, cook it on the griddle or cast iron and slice it up for cheesesteaks.
  • I have to ask, since they aren't insulated, other than saying YETI on the side, what do they do that the others don't? Looks like they aren't even shaped to keep the ants out of the bowl.
  • I toss pulled pork in chili sometimes. I don't do 50/50. I do mostly chili grind, some ground sausage, and then add in pulled pork. Maybe 10-15% pulled pork. Good stuff. I think a 50/50 would work great.
  • The food off a pellet grill will eat.  After a buddy had hell with his Treager, I wouldn't own the brand. Lots of flare ups and runaway temps. They sent him 2 replacements controls, replacement circuit board, replacement hoppers and auger, a whole …
  • What about ash on the sides?
  • So I finally got a new mower after lots of kicking tires and thinking it over. It didn't help that it rained a lot at the end of Summer and my current mower started having issues.  I was leaning towards a Scag Liberty Z. The local dealer didn't hav…
  • Fort Worth: The Woodshed was good when it opened, not so much anymore. Joe T's is a tourist trap with mediocre Mexican food at best and there's only 2 choices. I don't know why anyone goes there more than once. Heim is good and not far from downtown…
  • I believe Friday they roll out a separate butchers display and have a butcher on the floor. 2 if they do seafood too. That's when they do a lot of good looking Prime beef. Might be a seasonal thing because they aren't always there. The only thing I …
  • There shouldn't be any bones in country style pork ribs. As far as I know they should come from the top of the shoulder. Course I'm no butcher.
  • My brother did a sous vide pork belly. He skipped searing it at the end. It was tasty, though had a lot of unrendered fat and no crust. I wouldn't use it as a dinner main course. It's awesome as burnt ends. Though I prefer to use country pork ribs f…
  • I know this is from early this month. There are some people who make the whole gasket out of just orange Permatex and cook on it. Yours looks fine.
  • Anyone happen to know of any gas stations in the Wilmington NC area with diesel? There's a group running rescue boats there and they need to move the rescue boats to another area but the diesel trucks are low on fuel. They have people who can get t…
  • A store and a company who are both jaded.  I have a BGE and a KJ. If I were buying again today, I would go with KJ. There are some minor differences in the two but they are pretty much the same as far as performance. KJ has come up with some newer …
  • The only thing I use the old gas grill for is the side burner. I do all my CI sears on that burner. Works great.
  • MJG said: Save $ and get a Thermopop. You’re welcome.  Save even more and get the refurb. I use the refurb ones when cooking at other places. Less pain if it gets lost.
  • I leave the stock grate out of mine. My experience was too many holes gets plugged when a coal falls into it, even with the basket.
  • GoldenQ said: You can always take a sirloin to the Deli section and get them to slice it for you.   Usually cheaper and better sirloin I would have guessed they wouldn't do it because they would have to completely clean the machine after…
  • Wifi only so no display. The fan should be generic and easy to replace (if you can solder a wire). Only having 1 probe would be a letdown.

  • TheToast said: Is that an add on or will it be bundled with new BGE sales? I thought the stores choose the bundled packages with the popular add-ons. I'm sure all of that stuff is add-on accessories.

  • You can't buy the trucker hat. It's sold out. There used to be a guy who machined aluminum drain plugs for Yetis with a pressure release valve built in. People had problems with the Yetis getting a vacuum seal and they couldn't open the coolers with…
