  • Hey Pork Butt Mike, I hear ya, I read the posts everyday, contribute from time to time. This post is dear to my heart. I'm a flim maker, my projects have been on the big screen, I'm also a screenwriter, and I've written novels. Oh and according to the State of California I am a sevier dyslexic... Thank god I have a proofreader for my work.

    I look for content in a post, not spelling or grammer. If I wanted perfect spelling I'd go to a writing forum, which is not nearly as cool as this forum, or tasty.

    I've had my bge for almost 10 years, and have read the posts here for almost that long. People like you who love bbq and share their knowldege, just and quite a few other have, helped make my bbq experience so much greater.

    If I listened to all those people from gradeschool teachers to my college professors, I would not have chosen the writing field. Dyslexia to me is not a handicap, but a way to look at the world just a bit differently than the rest, and because of that we see the world in a more creative way which shows up in writing, q'ing, and other things. Keep up the good posts, and to heck with those that rip on you or other dyslexics.

    I purposly did not copy this post and past it in my word program for a spell check before I re pasted.

    i agree post the email!! Maybe we can see any comparisons to the email and post and put it together!! A little investigative work, give us something to do.. :laugh: :)

  • Yeah Mike I wouldn't worry about the jackasses. In the little time I've been here I've noticed there are a few people here that like to mouth off in the forum for no particular reason. It's a cooking forum not an amendment for The Little Brown Handbook. My spelling and grammar suck and I don't have dyslexia had to google that spelling) so you're one up on me. I think your posts add to my cooking, that's what I'm here for, so thanks.

  • didn't read through the 4 pages of responses, so if this has already been suggested and/or carried out, then disregard my suggestion.

    But, I would post the email & the name / handle, as well as possibly the email address of the person. (though, better read up on the rules of the forum - not sure if posting someone's email address is allowed or not).

    At any rate, that's not cool - it's one thing if you're on a political or debate forum, debating / arguing about say, Obama & his socialist policies - there, you can expect to be flamed & have any mistakes you might make pointed out. I admit that, on occasion, I will attack someone on a political debate forum for misspellings, especially if they said something like "Well, Bush and Palin are not intelijent enough to run the country"... then that's when I'll nail them, hehehe... :evil:

    But here, this is an informative forum regarding a specific type of BBQ grill. People come here to get information, recipes, and many of you seem to have a good camaraderie & have met IRL (in real life).

    I've only met a handful (Morro Bay Rich and Smitty from Eggs by the Bay)... but as time goes on, hope to meet many more...

    Anyway, as others have said - don't let 1 bad apple ruin the whole bunch (oh, and post the email) hehe...

    I absolutely detest little people who take anonymous shots at anyone, for any reason. Posts like yours are what make this forum great - and I judging from the response of others thus fare think you surely know where we all stand. We stand solidly with YOU. :)
